Flooring installation in Lakeland.

Historic districts on one side of town and new construction on the other. Both need a floor that suits the house it is in.

Wood flooring transitioning to existing tile in an open room
Local work

Two Lakelands, two conversations.

Around Dixieland, Lake Morton and Cleveland Heights the houses are old enough that there is often original wood under the carpet, plaster on the walls and a floor plan made of rooms rather than one open space. Wood belongs in those houses, and the layout has to respect the doorways instead of running straight through them.

North and south of the interstate it is the opposite: newer subdivisions with open plans and a builder floor that is ready to be replaced. Same crew, same written scope, different material conversation.

Materials

What we install in Lakeland.

Hardwood flooring installed through an open entry area

Hardwood

The material an older Lakeland house was designed around, in solid or engineered.

Light gray vinyl plank flooring installed in a dining area

Luxury Vinyl Plank

Waterproof and hard-wearing, the practical answer in newer subdivisions.

Marble-look porcelain tile installed in a residential room

Tile

Large format porcelain and tile, set with the prep the room actually needs.

Recent work

Floors we have finished.

Real jobs, photographed as they were handed over. Nothing staged and nothing borrowed from a catalogue.

Scope

What we bring to a Lakeland job.

  • Existing wood assessed before anything is laid over it
  • Room-by-room layouts planned around doorways in older homes
  • Open plans run in one direction with the fewest transitions possible
  • Subfloor or slab prepped to the material manufacturer requirement
  • Trim, thresholds and stair work quoted with the floor, not after
  • One written scope covering removal, prep, install and finish

Lakeland questions

Before you call.

Yes. Polk County is one of the three counties we cover, along with Pasco and Hillsborough. Call us with the address and we will confirm before you spend time on it.

We look at what is there first. Depending on thickness and condition, the answer is either to keep the wood or to put a new floor over it, and we will tell you which one we would do.

Yes. Those homes are usually a whole-floor replacement of the builder carpet and tile, which is the job we run most weeks.
